1. Choice of the Main Keyword You Want to Rank For

This is the keyword you want to appear for on Google (or another search engine). Choose it carefully because the article will then be semantically optimized according to this keyword. Here are some tips to help you make your choice.

The Keyword Should Not Be Too Broad

Take the example of an e-commerce site that sells products for sports nutrition. A possible keyword might be “nutrition.” However, I advise against it for two reasons. First, because it will be very competitive, making it difficult to rank well, and also because it will be too broad.

Most people who type “nutrition” into a search engine will not be looking for sports nutrition products.

A good keyword choice would be “sports nutrition,” but if your website doesn’t have much authority, I suggest going for even less competitive keywords like “post-workout nutrition,” “pre-workout nutrition,” “endurance sports nutrition,” “nutrition before a marathon,” etc.

The longer your main keyword is, the easier it will be to rank for, but fewer people will be searching for it. However, those who do search for it will be exactly in your target audience. If you sell food for endurance athletes, what could be better than someone searching for “nutrition before a marathon” on a search engine?

With SEOpital, you can easily create hundreds of articles to rank for a multitude of long-tail, low-competition keywords that will bring quality traffic to your website.

The Keyword Must Have a Minimum Monthly Search Volume

Before generating an article on a keyword, check how many people search for it each month using our free keyword research tool. If you’re new to SEO, I suggest targeting queries with at least 10 searches per month.

You Should Not Already Be Ranked for This Keyword

Do not write two articles to rank for the same keyword. Search engines do not like that. To check if you are already ranked for a given keyword, type it into Google and see if your website appears in the search results. To speed up the process, you can also use our keyword ranking tool.

If you are not in the top 100, you can create a new article on this keyword. If you are between 30th and 100th position and want to improve your ranking, you can write a new article with SEOpital and replace the old one with the new. If you are in the top 30, I advise you to improve your existing article to move it up in the search results.

One Keyword per Search Intent

Do not write an article on “nutrition before marathon” and another on “nutrition before a marathon,” as they have the same search intent. The same goes for “food before marathon” and “foods before marathon.”

Google is smart enough to understand that a person searching for “food before marathon” and another searching for “foods before marathon” are looking for the same thing.

To be sure that the search intent is different, you can use our keyword clustering tool by entering your two keywords. The tool will then perform a Google search on each of your keywords and compare the results. If the majority of the same URLs appear in both searches, it means the search intent is the same, and therefore you should only write one article to rank for these two keywords.

Do Not Put Multiple Keywords in This Field

If you want your article to rank for other secondary keywords, do not put them in the “The keyword you want to rank for” field, but rather here:

Before adding secondary keywords here, read this part of the SEOpital user guide carefully.

2. Choosing the title of Your Article

The article’s title is important because it will determine the editorial line of the article. There are several ways to rank for a keyword, and your title will decide this. Taking the example of the article on the keyword “food before marathon,” a possible title would be “Top 10 Foods to Prioritize Before a Marathon.”

Make sure the title is at least 40/45 characters and no more than 65/70 characters. If it’s too long, it will be cut off in the search results.

Also, try to include your main keyword in the title and at the beginning if possible.

3. Setting the Blog Article Outline

You have 3 options for the article outline:

Do Not Impose an Outline and Let SEOpital Do It

If you choose this option, we will automatically generate an outline for your article by getting inspired from the top 10 SERP outlines on your keyword. The outline will have 3 h2 sections in addition to the introduction and conclusion, and the article will be between 1000 and 1500 words.

Generate a Blog Article Outline with SEOpital and Modify It

You can also generate an outline with SEOpital by clicking here:

Generating an outline this way costs one credit. The outline will have 5 sections in addition to the introduction and conclusion. You can add or remove sections from this outline.

Enter Your Blog Article Outline Manually

You can also manually enter your outline starting from scratch by adding sections as explained above.

Move a Section

To move a section, click on it without releasing the button and move it where you want. To transform an h2 into an h3, move the h2 section you want to transform into an h3 into another h2 section.

4. Adding Custom Instructions

Generating an outline before writing the article also allows you to add custom instructions.

Extra prompt section

This field allows you to add information that will appear in the corresponding section of the article. This can be useful if you absolutely want to cover a certain topic or if the information you want to appear in the article is only known to you.

SEOpital is connected to the internet and can write about any topic. It is not necessary to put general information on a subject in this field because our AI is already trained on this kind of information. The rule is simple: if the information is general and accessible on the internet, there is no need to enter it in this field.

Before using this feature, generate a few articles without it to better understand the limits and our tool.

Background information

In this field, you can format the rendering. For example, ask SEOpital to present the results in the form of a table, bullet points, etc.

5. Adding Internal Links

Add your URLs in this field. One URL per line. You can then choose, if you wish, the anchor text where the URL will be inserted.

Our AI will automatically read each of the URLs and insert the URLs that make sense in your article.

6. Customizing the Writing Style

You have 2 options to customize the writing style:

Option 1: Provide editorial guidelines

Click on “See examples” to view samples of editorial guidelines.

Option 2: Provide a sample of your writing style

Use this field to share an example of your writing style. The sample should be between 500 and 1000 words. Our AI will draw inspiration from your style to craft the article.

If you do not use either of these options, the AI will default to a neutral writing style.

Put in this field an example of your writing style. The example must be between 500 and 1000 words. Our AI will be inspired by your writing style to write the article.

If you do not use this option, the AI will use a neutral writing style.

7. Semantic Optimization of the Article

SEOpital has an automatic semantic optimization feature. I recommend leaving this default mode active.

To optimize the semantics of your article, we will analyze the keywords used by the top 10 Google search results on your keyword and understand which secondary keywords are important to include in the article. We will then ensure that these keywords are inserted in the article.

If you want to force one or more secondary keywords to appear, you can choose the manual semantic optimization mode and enter each of your keywords separated by a comma or a line break.

8. Insert images into your article

You can insert images throughout your article by enabling this option.

9. Personalizing the Conclusion of the Article

AIs tend to generate a very general conclusion with phrases like: “We hope you enjoyed this article. Feel free to contact us to learn more.”

You can customize this conclusion by adding your instructions in this section. For example: “Encourage readers to try our AI-powered SEO writing tool for free, which allows generating quality content.”

10. Adding a FAQ to the Article

You can add a FAQ at the end of your article. To generate the FAQ, we will retrieve the questions and answers from Google on your keyword and answer them.

These questions are the most searched questions on Google about your keyword. Answering them helps to increase traffic to your article.

11. Adding Style to Your Article

Activate this option to bold and italicize words and improve the article’s readability.
